In the spirit of Christ, our pastoral care team offers spiritual care and comfort to everyone regardless of race, ethnic origin, religion, creed, sex or economic status.
Saint Therese’s pastoral care program ensures religious leaders and lay staff have a regular presence in our communities (and any time by request). Our pastoral care team will also help coordinate a visit by clergy of a specific faith if a resident or family member requests assistance.
Since we are founded on Catholic values, we provide Liturgy on Feast Days, Holy Communion upon request, Anointing of the Sick, Reconciliation, Stations of the Cross, Rosary recitation and more.
Pastoral care is also a resource for unbiased guidance and spiritual counsel, partners in prayer or meditation, bereavement services, support groups, a faith-based presence throughout hospice and palliative care and assistance organizing chapel events.
As part of our holistic, person-centered approach to senior care, Saint Therese incorporates robust spiritual care programming far above the industry standard. Our pastoral care employees focus on supporting every individual’s emotional and spiritual well-being.
Pastoral care employees are always onsite; every day to celebrate triumph and joy or be present through grief and anxiety. We may be called to pray following a change in condition, to offer support while making a difficult decision or to simply have a friendly conversation over a cup of coffee. No matter what the need is, we take time to genuinely know, understand and value every individual— forming close, personal, meaningful bonds.
No. Whereas some of our pastoral care employees are Benedictine sisters and Catholic priests, we employ pastors, ministers, chaplains and lay people.
For absolutely no cost, our community members are encouraged to benefit from grief support in one-on-one and/or group settings. Pastoral care employees can also help locate specialized bereavement resources if needed. In addition, families and residents receive invitations to Saint Therese Foundation’s annual Tree of Lights memorial ceremonies during each Christmas season.
